Any person arrested (also known as AP) by the police or ICAC should bear in mind, among other things, that (a) the AP has the right to be informed by the police or ICAC of the reason for being arrested; (b) the AP has the right to remain silence; (c) the AP has the right to ask for a list of solicitors, communicate and consult with a solicitor in private before taking any statement or attending any recorded interview; and (d) the AP should inform the solicitor of his injury suffered in the course of being arrested or detention so that the solicitor may request the police or ICAC to arrange medical examination as soon as possible.

Caution: Nothing herein shall constitute or can be deemed a substitute for specific legal advice. If in doubt please seek independent legal advice.
